As a key player in the ecological transition, ADEME needed to establish a hosting platform capable of supporting the diversity of its digital projects while ensuring complete control over its data. The strategic challenge was to balance critical security and performance requirements with an infrastructure that has a low carbon footprint, fully aligned with the organisation’s environmental commitments.

Automation and Kubernetes architecture at the heart of an agile and responsible delivery strategy.
ADEME's primary objective was to establish a hosting platform capable of managing a variety of websites and web applications, while enabling multiple development teams to deploy quickly and consistently. It also needed to include a set of tools enabling deployment automation, real-time monitoring (observability) and backup management, thereby ensuring simplified and secure operation of all services.
Kaliop first deployed the technical foundation using Scaleway’s Kapsule Kubernetes cluster. CI/CD pipelines were then created to enable the deployment of the first applications. This was followed by a phase of continuous improvement, incorporating feedback from the various teams to adjust priorities based on needs and challenges, thereby ensuring constant improvement in the services provided by the platform as well as its performance.
The choice of Scaleway as a sovereign cloud provider is part of an approach that is fully aligned with ADEME’s commitments to the ecological transition. Scaleway stands out for the energy efficiency of its data centres, which are powered by renewable energy and designed to minimise their carbon footprint. This approach allows ADEME to benefit from a high-performance infrastructure while honoring its commitment to the environment.
