The challengeHarmonise Essilor's digital presence across Europe

Essilor, the world leader in prescription lenses, operates throughout Europe. Against a backdrop of growth, the group chose to revamp the Essilor Hub platform in collaboration with Kaliop. The goal of this redesign was to address three key challenges: to build Essilor’s brand awareness by highlighting the innovation of the cutting-edge technologies it uses; to standardise its communication across 23 target markets with a consistent message; and to implement a B2C2B approach by directing consumers from the Essilor website to the nearest optician.

I don’t see Kaliop as an agency, but rather as an extension of our team, simply working remotely. We’re open and honest with one another and today we can truly consider ourselves trusted partners. And that trust continues to grow over time.

Build a scalable digital factory designed to streamline deployments

During the development phase, the initial investment focuses on building a solid foundation. Subsequently, updates are shared directly across the platform. New content, design and marketing campaigns can be deployed very easily and consistently across the European market.

Ibexa’s technology choice

The Ibexa platform (formerly eZ Systems) is a robust open-source technical solution that offers native multi-site and multilingual management. The API provided by eZ Platform Enterprise enables rapid development of the platform’s “backend” infrastructure: new sites are deployed at scale.

Using the design sprint to rapidly develop an MVP

The Design Sprint method enabled the rapid design of an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) that incorporated the project’s key features. Kaliop implemented an agile and Scrum approach for the incremental development of the platform and the gradual onboarding of the 23 country sites.
