Global consolidation of Virbac’s web platforms
The client's challenges
Building a consistent digital ecosystem across local and global markets to enhance the user experience
Virbac, a global specialist in animal health, faced the challenge of integrating its digital solutions across markets. Until then, Virbac relied on a site factory model powered by a CMS to manage its international websites. However, the complexity of the platform made content management challenging for local teams, and the user experience was fragmented due to the separation between the content site and the e-commerce platform. All online purchasing journeys were handled through redirects to BigCommerce, splitting the experience across two distinct environments and negatively impacting UX. Virbac needed an efficient, centralized solution that would simplify operations across markets while ensuring a unified and seamless digital experience.
Lead Web Project Manager | Virbac
“In Kaliop, we found a true partner who brilliantly guided us through the design and development phases of our project. Their agile working method, combined with an MVP and product-centric approach, proved crucial. Their commitment to product value is clear, and their ability to challenge our strategy, always in the project’s best interest, is a valuable asset. We’re eager to continue this collaboration for the deployment of our headless site factory, multi-market and multi-language, specifically designed for animal owners.”
Solution
Goal:
Centralized management of all markets
Our goal was to unify Virbac’s communication channels by creating a centralized content management system. With this solution, all markets are managed through a single, shared admin panel, simplifying content administration, permission management, and integration with external systems responsible for additional functionalities, such as e-commerce. The result is a consistent and intuitive experience for customers worldwide.
Approach:
Integration of systems within a single Ibexa DXP installation
The implementation was based on building a single Ibexa DXP installation that serves all Virbac markets. This approach eliminated the issue of fragmented web traffic and inconsistencies in content presentation. A key part of the project was the integration of a headless solution — BigCommerce — enabling seamless connection between the content management system and the e-commerce platform, regardless of the user’s device or location.
Extra:
Seamless integration of BigCommerce as a headless solution
A key feature of the implementation was deploying e-commerce in a headless model, where BigCommerce was integrated directly within Ibexa DXP.
Thanks to this solution:
• users stay within a single site, without visible redirects between systems
• the shopping experience is consistent and intuitive, regardless of country or device
• content management and e-commerce operations are handled in one place, significantly simplifying the work of Virbac’s teams
